In 2018, Greenwich Shoe Repair expanded to Ridgefield, CT, where Mr. Togridis has been in the women’s and men’s shoe/boot repair and leather restoration business since 1983.
George Togridis has 38 years of leather repair expertise earning a reputation as one of the very best Master Shoe Repair & Boot Restoration Cobblers with customers located throughout the country as far away as California, Texas, Florida, and Seattle.
1983 - George Togridis, age 11, a son of the original 1985 owner, Mr. Sokratis Togridis of New Canaan (CT) Shoe Repair starts to learn the trade as a guild master apprentice to help his father and his dad’s oldest uncle in their Southport (CT) Shoe Store.
1985 - Sokratis Togridis buys his own store in New Canaan CT, New Canaan Shoe Repair, as George works alongside, attending to the detail of the trade.
1990 - after 5 years in New Canaan, the Togridis family expands to open a new store, Greenwich (CT) Shoe Repair.
1990 -2003 George works between family shoe stores, earning an auto & machine mechanics degree where he learns how to build and repair all types of mechanical equipment, including sophisticated sewing, polishing, and stitching machinery required in the boot, shoe, cobbler, and leather repair restoration business.
2003 - George buys Greenwich Shoe Repair, Inc. and devotes full time in the leather and shoe restoration business in Greenwich, CT 15 East Elm, off Greenwich Avenue.
2018 - George expands store convenience by purchasing Ridgefield Shoe Repair in Ridgefield CT and operates two (2) businesses serving Fairfield Country.
2021/2022 – George operates two (2) successful businesses, devoting time to family, wife, daughter and two sons, proud of his Greek heritage, volunteering for the Pontian Society of Norwalk CT and giving back to the community and his St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
